Townsend Obstetrician

Dr. Samuel Miller Townsend was born in Madison in 1847, and lived here all his life. As a young man he was employed as a pharmacist at the former Swormstedt drugstore on the Northeast corner of Main and West. Graduating from the Medical College of Ohio in Cincinnati, he returned to Madison and ran an obstetric practice for several years before and after 1900; which was located at 222 E Third St.
